GESS Education Awards – Gratnells Wins!

Gratnells scoops second international award for its MakerSpace trolley

The GESS Education Awards were established to encourage the raising of standards in the education sector and recognize the quality and diversity of educational products, resources, and services, people and establishments. This year, the awards ceremony was held at a spectacular gala dinner at the H Hotel, Dubai on 27th February.

After deliberation by a panel of independent experts and thought leaders from the global education sector, the Gratnells MakerSpace trolley came out on top in its category: Innovation Product Awards – non ICT / Equipment / Hardware.

According to the GESS Education Awards team, this award is given to “a product or service that demonstrates clearly that it is new, original and ahead of current thinking”. The MakerSpace trolley was commended during the ceremony as “a flexible solution for any classroom space where group STEAM learning activities are done”.

Launched in 2018, the MakerSpace trolley responds to the growing need in STEAM education for practical storage solutions that can help promote a collaborative way of working. It picked up a Worlddidac Award in 2018 and is fast becoming the storage solution of choice for many STEAM kit producers.

Richard Picking, International Marketing Director at Gratnells was on hand to accept the trophy on behalf of the company. Speaking after the awards ceremony, Richard commented, “I’m thrilled to be here to accept this major award recognizing the valuable contribution the MakerSpace trolley can make in STEAM education. As a company we’re committed to innovation and during 2019 we’ll be launching several new products to sit alongside the MakerSpace trolley to create a complete Maker Suite.”
